1890 - 1950

Asset from the 1920s in the various Shows with a sober and rational style which moves closer to him to Francis Jourdain, the influence will be considerable after 1945 through the the courses which it give in particular to Ensad, but also its role within the framework of the reconstruction as in Havre where the architect Auguste Perret commands him of the furniture. He results from it an immortal faith for the industrial future of the piece of furniture which in spite of its rough death in 1950, will allow the emergence in France of a first generation of young designers. A short time later his death will be created the prize René Gabriel, considered today as the most prestigious French award for a designer.
