Jean PROUVE
1901 - 1984

Godchild of émile Gallé and son of Victor Prouvé, founder of the school of Nancy, Jean Prouvé creates in 1923 his first studio in Nancy, then adheres in 1929 to the Union of the modern artists UAM where he collaborates in particular with Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand. In 1947, the companys of studios Jean Prouvé settles down to Maxéville near Nancy. It dedicates itself then to the mass distribution of models which Jean Prouvé draws himself of which in particular, famous Standard model chair. He begins from 1957, teacher's career.
