Pierre PAULIN
1927 - 2009

Pierre Paulin studies at first the modelling and the ceramic to Vallauris. He follows then the teaching of Maxime Old at the school Camondo, then makes a training course at Marcel Gascoin. Within this famous engineering consulting firm specialized in the furniture, he frequents designers' new generation. A first exhibition in 1953 in the " foyer of today " points out it, in particular by the editors Meubles TV, Thonet and Gallery Mai, for which he is going to create models. His originality, especially in the drawing of seats, will be rewarded for a golden medal in the international exhibition of Brussels in 1958. The Dutch Artifort firm then calls on to him, giving him the necessary means to create a new type of furniture, who, in the 60s, will have a big influence.
