Michel MORTIER
1925 - 2015

Graduate of the school of Decorative arts in the industry, he began in Studium the stores of the Louvre before joining Marcel Gascoin's agency where he found in 1954 with Pierre Guariche and Joseph-André Motte the studio plastic research, ARP. After their separation in 1957, he takes the artistic direction of the store La Maison Française 55 before a departure in Canada. In his return in 1968, he manages the society Mobilier International while dispensing teach in prestigious colleges and by participating in numerous construction works) as interior designer'. His furniture is edited first by Lucien Carrier then, Airborne, Steiner, Meubles et fonctions and Disderot for lamps. This uncluttered but very personal style, made by Michel Mortier one of the best creators of his generation.
