Gustave GAUTIER
1911 - 1980

Active member of the Union of the Modern Artists UAM after 1945, he makes friends with René Herbst, who becomes his boss and his mentor. From 1947, he exposes to the Salon des Arts Ménagers SAM and Salon des Artistes Décorateurs SAD, furniture intended for the series with this constant concern, to integrate the furniture into the architecture where from a work centred for the main part, on complete programs for essentially private customers. He was also interested in the reconstruction, as Marcel Gascoin or René Gabriel. Certain furniture is edited in small series by Eros or Rimard and Dumuids.
